January 2010

1.  Our new schedule is out.  We have 2 Day races and 5 night races.  Hope you can make it out to support us.

2.  We have also added 6 practice days.  4 of them we have tried to base  around the same weeks as the two Peoria TT's and the two Springfield weekends.  Hopefully this will give you guys and gals a place to get some seat time before the big events.

3.  The 5th practice is based around the Peoria AHRMA week.  We don't have the dates yet but when we do we will post it.

4.  The 6th practice day will be our end of the year rider appreciation day.  Come on out ride all day and play all night.  We hope to make this a large tradition at Pekin.

5.  Also Pekin has picked up some key sponsors to help with the season.  Please check out the schedule/sponsor page for details.

February 2010 

1.  This month is pretty quiet.  We are working on more sponsors for our season championship as well as more lights for the track.  We are close to finalizing 3 to 4 more lights.  This should make for a safer track at night. 

2.  Bike Week is right around the corner.  Hope to see ya there!!


March 2010

1.  We have landed Thor Racing as another sponsor in 2010.  Thor has donated some really cool hats to be given to the top three riders in each class.  We hope to grow this relationship with Thor for years to come. 

2.  We will be setting the poles and new lights this month. 

3.  We wanted to congratulate Pekin Motorcycle Club Member, Rob Pearson on a job well done in Daytona.  He landed on the podium a few times in the All Star Series, got some top 5's and made the main at the GNC Short Track on Thursday night.  Way to go Bugs!!!

April 2010

1.  Round 1 for Pekin and the District turned out much better than expected.  The track was awesome and the racing was superb.  We know that everyone who attended had a choice that weekend as to which track they attended and we sure do appreciate the riders who chose to race with Pekin.  We had 124 riders, a $400 Dash for Cash for the Pros and everyone put on a wonderful show.

2.  Round 2 was a carbon copy of last week.  The track was dusty in the morning but by the time the mains rolled around we had a huge groove and the racing was great again.  136 riders, a $400 Dash for Cash and excellent racing again.  Thank you so much for supporting us and we can't wait for our first night race in May.

3.  We have landed a few more sponsors.  Please check out the sponsor page and visit these businesses.  We have a new sponsor that will be coming on board to help out with our end of the year championship prizes.  Stay tuned for more on that as it is exciting!!

May 2010
1.  We had another excellent turnout for our first night race.  This year so far is becoming a record year for the club and we will continue to work on improving the race track for the riders.

2.  Our second race in May was rained out.  We want to thank all the riders who continue to support us.

3.  Bugs put on a Rob Pearson School of Dirt Track at the club and it went off great.  Hopefully we can have more of these schools.

4.  Springfield Mile Weekend was good to our own Bugs Pearson.  He made both mains on the weekend and continues to sit in the top 20 in GNC Points.

June 2010
1.  The club has picked up another new sponsor.  Huey Robinson has stepped up to help us out and we greatly appreciate it!!!  Keep your eyes on his son Parker #12 in the 50 class.

2.  One huge announcement is the State Championship Half Mile in Knoxville has been cancelled.  Pekin M/C has stepped up to the plate and we will host the Half Mile State Championship in Petersburg, IL.  Please come out and support this great event.

3.  Bugs continues to roll at the nationals.  He landed a 4th place finish at Gas City, IN and is now 10th in points!!!!

4.  Our June 19th race was a story for the record books.  We had a huge storm the night before and the track was a swamp.  We tried to blade off the muck but couldn't get it to work.  The riders, fans, and club members began wheel packing.  At 7:00 pm we had a riders meeting and let the riders decide what to do.  They voted to race so we ran a very quick program and the 65 riders who raced had a safe and wonderful time.  Thank you for sticking it out and we'll see ya next week.

July 2010
July is a quiet month for the club.  We are getting ready for the State Championship 1/2 Mile at Petersburg.  We hope to see y'all there.

August 2010
The State Championship was a great night.  The track was good and the riders were hauling the mail!!  The club wants to thank Movin Mike and Matt Yoho for all the hard work and hopefully we can look at this race again next year.

Also don't forget our last race of the year on Sept. 25th.  We have some very close races going on for the overall number 1 plate.  Don't miss it!!

We want to bring up club member Rob Pearson.  Bugs is having a great season so far.  He is in the top 10 of GNC Points.  Bugs has had a few races with bad luck but is having the best season of his career so far.  If you can make it to a GNC race please stop down and say hi.
